New Arrivals November 8, 2009

Here's what arrived from Bookmooch this week:

Emperor Mage - Tamora Pierce
The Secret of Platform 13 - Eva Ibbotson
Cast in Shadow - Michelle Sagara
Living Dead in Dallas - Charlaine Harris

This week I discovered something I have been looking for for a long time- a used bookstore within 30 minutes of my home with a good selection of books that are not Harlequin romances. And I found it! The Book Gallery in Carleton Place, ON has lots of YA, lots of mystery, lots of sci-fi/fantasy/urban fantasy... sigh. Heaven. I spent an hour or two there and picked up the following (OK, I picked up a LOT more but Joe made me put some back.. blah blah pay the bills blah):

Hunter's Haunt - Dave Duncan
Beauty Sleep - Cameron Dokey
The Titan's Curse - Rick Riordan
The Assassins of Tamurin - S.D. Tower

Haha. I love used books stores too! Though the ones here only sell a few YA books and lots of Harlequin romances. :p

Its cause nobody wants to keep there Harlequins but everyone wants to keep the good stuff..lol

We don't have many used bookstores around where I live, but I wish we did.

"Pay the bills, blah blah blah" LOL

I love used book stores. Looks like you found a good one! I have one nearby but I really have to dig to find the good stuff. Makes it more fun when I find a treasure though. :)

I discovered a used book store earlier this year and was SO happy! Two months later it closed down :(

The used bookstore is a great find! Enjoy! I can imagine you'll spend some hours there browsing...and buying! Looks like you bought some great books!

All in all a very good book week! Happy reading!

(my husband won't go near a bookstore with me. He does whatever he can to steer me away from one. If that doesn't work he leaves me in the store & says, just don't tell me what you spent! LOL)

Great books. I remember reading The Secret of Platform 13 years ago. I don't remember what it's about though. Hope you enjoy reading all your books.
